Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. At the beginning of every new year I try to take a moment and take stock of what went well and what didn’t go well in the past year to try and make improvements. I do this in my personal life and in my professional life. One of the areas that I need to improve upon in my professional life where it comes to my D365 F&O projects is the area of security.
Let’s face it, at least for me, security is one of my least favorite areas of system implementation. It’s tedious and I generally find it difficult. I tend to put off difficult things as long as I can and do the fun things first. Something I’ve decided to force myself to do is to learn as much about the tools and techniques for security in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
I don’t think that this will make security easy because I do not think that security will ever be easy, but perhaps I can make it more palatable to me so I will be able to stand to spend more time on it during the project rather than trying to do it all at once.
Anyone that follows me on Youtube or reads this blog whether they realize it or not are generally following along my learning path. I generally blog and record videos on whatever I’m working on at the time. This is where most of my content comes from.
So don’t be surprised when you see some blogs on security sprinkled in with my other content. My goal this year is to become fairly proficient at it and find best practices so that I can guide my customers better.
I’m looking forward to a great 2022!
