Disposition codes are great for controlling work at the purchase order receipt stage. Disposition codes can be used for many things:
A location directive can be setup with a disposition code so that when the disposition code is chosen by the user a specific location directive is used.
An inventory status can be associated with a disposition code. This allows the user to set the inventory status as blocked for example if part of the company’s process is to set the inventory to a blocked status until fully received.
A work template can be associated with a disposition code. This allows different work processes based on the disposition code chosen.
Disposition Code Setup
In order to set up the disposition codes go to Warehouse Management -> Setup -> Mobile Device -> Disposition codes. In this setup screen you can give the disposition code a name, inventory status, work template and return reason codes.
The return reason codes are used in the RMA process we’ll talk about these in a later post.
The second step in the setup is to enable the disposition code in the mobile device setup. In the video I also explain how to set a default disposition code so that a user doesn’t have to select the disposition code every time.
